Indicative starting prices, not a quote. Your exact figure is confirmed from photos before we move, and it does not change on collection day. We do not run a 24 ft lorry — bigger jobs are multiple full loads, or a skip tank from the parent brand.
The three things that set your price
1. Volume
Two lorry sizes, each bookable as a half or full load, and that is the whole menu. A half load is the minimum charge, so if you are already booking one, adding the old bookshelf and the broken drying rack costs nothing extra — you have paid for the space either way. Fill it.
2. Access
This is the variable people don't expect, and it can matter more than volume. Lift access on the same floor is straightforward. A walk-up, a long corridor to the lift lobby, a lorry that can't park near the entrance, or a condominium that mandates a specific service route all add time and manpower. Two identical sofas can be two different prices in two different blocks.
3. Weight
Mostly relevant to renovation work. Hacked tiles, concrete and screed are dense enough that a lorry hits its weight limit long before it looks full — a single bathroom strip-out can approach a tonne. Household furniture almost never has this problem. For heavy construction waste in quantity, a skip tank is normally cheaper per tonne than repeat lorry runs, and it is the same company either way.
What’s already in the price
- Two men. Labour is inside the load price, not billed on top.
- Disposal costs. Tipping fees are included — no separate charge at the end.
- Dismantling. Beds, wardrobes and built-in carpentry taken apart in the room.
- Carrying down and sweeping up.
- Nett pricing, no GST. The figure quoted is the figure paid.
Extra charges
These are the only things that get added, and every one of them is worked out from your photos before you book — never applied on the day.
| Extra charge | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Extra manpower | Confirmed after photos | Heavy items, tight access, or a job that needs to finish faster |
| No lift access | Confirmed after photos | Walk-up blocks, or when the service lift is out |
| Long carry | Confirmed after photos | Where the lorry cannot park near the entrance |
| After-hours | $150 | Outside standard hours, subject to availability |
These are worked into your quote before you book, based on the photos and details you send — not applied on the day. After-hours matches the Skip Tank Rental schedule.
Materials that cost more
Most furniture and household junk is priced entirely inside the load rate above. A short list of items needs more time, more manpower, or special handling, so they are priced from your photos rather than folded into a flat rate:
- Safes and safe boxes — weight and access dictate the crew size needed
- Pianos — upright or grand, both need specialist handling
- Built-in furniture — carpentry that has to be dismantled in place before it can be carried
- Stone and marble — countertops, slabs and tiling debris, priced by weight like other renovation waste
Send photos of these along with the rest of the job and they go into the same fixed quote — there's no separate booking or surprise line item on the day.
What doesn’t change the price
Outside of the materials listed above, there is no separate mattress charge, no surcharge appearing after the crew arrives, and no weekend premium. If a quoted price moves on the day, something has gone wrong — it shouldn’t happen.
Check the free option first
If you're in an HDB flat with one or two bulky items and no particular deadline, your town council may collect them free or for a nominal fee. Most councils allow a limited number of collections per household per year, with the allowance and booking process differing between councils. We would rather you check that than pay us for something you could get free — the comparison page sets out exactly when each option makes sense.
How to get an exact figure fast
Four things in one WhatsApp message and you'll usually have a fixed price back within the hour during working hours:
- Photos, or a short video walking through the space
- The block and floor number
- Whether there's lift access, or how many flights of stairs
- The date you need it cleared by
A video beats photos for anything bigger than a couple of items — thirty seconds tells us more than a dozen stills, and it means the right lorry turns up first time.
